Merry Christmas to Peter Wilson. When it was suggested that Peter Wilson should be independent of the old board so that we can have a fresh start Peter responded with "That's your issue". Summary of the meeting here: viewtopic.php?f=23&t=594
A good summary of where we are up to by Joe Aston of the AFR, linked to from here: viewtopic.php?f=5&p=4137#p4137

Re: Where are IRP Reports and IRP Review Panels website?

Not to mention that NOUS group does not host the CPA Australia website as we were told they had no other dealings with CPA Australia totally independent.

Re: Where are IRP Reports and IRP Review Panels website?

I have just spoken with a board member and they assure me that the reason for this was that the Nous Group, who host the Independent Review material, had a technical glitch and the website was down at their end. This has now been corrected. That's BS because the page on the CPA Australia website th...

Brilliant article. Insane situation.

Tim Youngberry, a member of the old guard was also paid $44K in a consulting fee. Refer the related parties disclosure. They didn't tell us that at the time, when they assured us how independent he was. Just doing it for the members.

Re: CPA director Caroline Spencer appointed WA Auditor General

It would seem like forgoing the fees makes it legal from the point of view of the act. However, I think the question remains about the time commitment BOTH ways. As far as members are concerned we should be wondering if we are getting a committed Director or someone with a great resume that simply d...

Re: Where are IRP Reports and IRP Review Panels website?

Same problems. That is that the cpaaustraliareview.com website is offline. What is the section that was removed from the CPA Australia website? If it was one website that went down, I could understand that was a technical glitch, but if content was removed from cpaaustralia.com.au then it's another ...

This article also seems to be on solid ground as the "inaccuracies" Peter claims to be correcting are non existent. i.e. I am unable to find anything in the email or attachment that contradicts anything in the article. Did anyone find an inaccuracy?

Re: CPA director Caroline Spencer appointed WA Auditor General

You nailed this JWheldon. It's in the AFR and CPA Australia has just today come out and said that she is going voluntary. I.e. not paid employment. Actually the payment is going to go to the WA government. I think it's still another case of 8 days a week. I am expecting Directors to perform, not to ...

Re: CPA director Caroline Spencer appointed WA Auditor General

I think the phrase "engage in any paid employment outside the duties of the office of Auditor General" does not mean to say contractors are ok, or that own business is ok.

In any case this is starting to sound like another case of 8 days a week.

Well that seems pretty clear. She's got to resign. Unless she is going to volunteer. How could they overlook this?

Thanks JWheldon, it's interesting to look at this on a revenue by member basis. It's obviously more than member fees that go into it. They have not released ASA numbers by region.

Re: 2017 CPA Report

The loan will be consolidated out so it's all recorded as an expense. There is some parent entity disclosure. I think the following statement means they wrote it off for the purpose of the parent entity disclosure? "The directors have assessed the loan and the investment in subsidiary and concluded ...

Re: 3 April 18 - Info re Member Consultation Forums

The numbers are pathetic. I think people are just sick of turning up to events where they are not listened to.

I have to wonder if the 7 members in Taralgon were sitting in a room being stared down by about 5 Directors, 10 Division Councillors and 10 people from the facilitation company.

Re: 28 Mar 2018 - CPA Aust complimentary CPD offer?

I think it's some pre recorded webinars, TEDx talks etc. They say they've saved so much money on tv shows they can afford to butter up people with free CPD. You could find similar stuff on you tube I reckon. I'm surprised how lame this CPD looks. Free TEDx leadership talk or borrow an eBook, WOW. It...
