A new section 202B request should be made so that they are forced to get it audited.

Re: Summary of CPA Australia Fiasco AFR 22nd Dec 2017 Joe Aston

If the selection process was any good independence from the old board would have been the number 1 essential criteria. I mean the whole reason this happened was for renewal and a fresh start with a new board. Then they get 2 Directors from AHRI. It should have been ruled out on the look alone.

Re: Out with Malley in with Malley 2.0?

Unfortunately as a lone voice, it is easily ignored, avoided or presented as unrepresentative of the majority. You simply need to build the numbers. Every member gets a vote so it's just about numbers. Based on our experience, complaining to management would do nothing. The only reason to complain ...

Re: Out with Malley in with Malley 2.0?

Hi DisaffectedHRFellow, One of the issues we faced was communications with other members. Basically every person who complained was told they were the only one who complained. Then Brett emailed about 100 CPAs (a tiny amount for a 160,000 membership body) and it snow balled from there. Our conversat...

6. Steve could you move the Camira? I need to get the Torana out so I can get to the Commodore. Graeme can you leave the board room? We need to pay the NBL so that we can pay the CPAA Advice Directors. 7. Tell 'em to get stuffed'. Director: The members will ask how much we pay ourselves. Chair: Tel...

Re: 15th Dec 2017 The Saga/Nightmare Continues at CPA Australia

it is akin to an 'anti-whistleblowers code' and he (and the new board and the old board and the current management) do not want members exposing wrongdoings as has been done currently but would rather the professional route of the pre 2017 years where everyone is just so nice and professional, they...

Re: AFR 13th Dec 2017 Prof Stephen Taylor on why not renewing CPA membership

Hi certified sane, Good letter. I absolutely respect the decision to leave. Not many people would know that if they don't renew they still count as a member in this years numbers. Expect them to claim the member numbers/retention shows an endorsement. Reality is that new CPAs started studying 3 year...

Re: AHRI Oct 2016 Magazine coverage of Alex Malley

Funny how he says he does not fear losing his job. He just negotiated up from 2 to 3 years notice. I have to say that in my opinion some of his answers demonstrate a lack of intelligence. I mean if you want to be a movie star don't go to LA but be a treasurer of a club and hope that a couple guys fr...

Re: AFR 13th Dec 2017 Link between CPA Australia and Peter Wilsons AHRI

So AHRI was running an ethics in business research project with CPA while board members were quitting, the CEO was terminated and the place was falling apart. No wonder they branded it without CPA. Aligning a project on Ethics with people running CPA through that period speaks volumes about the eth...

Do a different subject. I think it's not a compulsory one right? You'd get no personal benefit from improving from 49 to 50.

what the s.202B statement from CPA Australia should have shown when it was completed
Brett, the point is that the section 202B may have not disclosed all payments. As scandalous as the amounts are that might not be everything.

Well I think AAT is funded by the three accounting bodies. What on earth for. It's not even a successful venture in terms of the uptake. With the weight of 3 accounting bodies behind it, 15 years history it has only 3,800 members. http://aat.org.au/about-aat-australia/history.html Established in Aus...

Re: CPA Australia sponsors Ethics Conference this weekend. Can you believe it.

You'd have to consider that CPAA being the main/sole sponsor of ABEN could influence them to talk about something else. The fact that Eva reports to Ian in another capacity could also stop them talking about the non independence of the IRP. It's like a study commissioned into the effects of smoking ...

Our acting CEO Adam Awty was in attendance, as were a 2 new directors. I wonder if the presentation resonated with them?
Good comment. But you know none of them were elected. I hope they listened anyway.
