Merry Christmas to Peter Wilson. When it was suggested that Peter Wilson should be independent of the old board so that we can have a fresh start Peter responded with "That's your issue". Summary of the meeting here: viewtopic.php?f=23&t=594

Re: 1 June 2018 - CPA -Intheblack - Should auditors be held liable if they miss fraud?

The Board of CPA Australia has decided to submit the role of Auditor for the 2018 CPA Australia Annual Accounts to a competitive tender of appropriate auditing firms. Earlier this week Deloitte, the current auditor, advised it would not participate in the tender process. Who writes this stuff? In w...

Re: AGM Day - Live Feed

I've been watching this feed from 5.30pm. The whitewash by the current board continues.
The refusal to disclose where the proxies came from was the last straw.

I'd also like to know how many of those came from the same ip address. Link would have that info.

Re: NSW, VIC, Qld, AW Members Read Carefully You are being gerrymandered out

Yet another means of feathering their nests. I've often wondered how the membership numbers were split between states. They justify this crap with the same warped logic that saw our AGM taken to Singapore. I'm surprised this year's wasn't there again, as last year's was such a roaring success (at di...

Re: CPA Australia members are 'being taken for a ride'.

At the AMP AGM held yesterday the chair did not allow any questions to be directed to any directors re what happened, as it's all in the past.

Peter Wilson will gag any and all discussions at our AGM, as he wants to look forward and have us all forget the money they pissed down a drain.

It hasn't. It might happen if the entire board is removed at the AGM.

Re: Where are IRP Reports and IRP Review Panels website?

That's BS because the page on the CPA Australia website that I referred to was also missing and is back now. So unless they managed to have a technical glitch that selectively removed a single page from the CPA Australia website at the exact same time the other technical glitch happened then it's t...

Re: Brief Update from Brett 6th Feb 2018

How many life members are there? Wouldn't it be easier to simply get rid of this membership class. There's no way that's defamatory; as it's simply the abolition of a class of membership and affects many people, not just one ... with no grandfathering (maybe give them all FCPA status if they don't a...

Re: Out with Malley in with Malley 2.0?

Peter Wilson now wants to bring in policies to silence the voice of members who disagree. What will happen at the AGM? Will the AGM be controlled to a point that you can only ask one question, about issues specifically prepared by the board and management team on a list given to members before hand...

Re: AFR 11th Dec 2017 - Malley's links with Peter Wilson

And like another narcissist (but a very successful one), Malley labels the media coverage that led to his ouster as "fake news". Yawn. Referring to Sam Dastyari's dual sackings, Malley told Smith two Fridays back that he "haven't [sic] had one sacking. I got a payout, for the record." Say what? Her...

Re: Methinks we lost the war

. agree with all of the above We played a great game, but we've been snookered. The war was lost because, firstly, many members still aren't aware of what's happened or are simply apathetic (I've tracked down five CPAs in this building, and none of them could give a rats) and, secondly, none of us ...

Re: What do members think of "InTheBlack" magazine?

. As an accounting journal for its members (who are accountants), it has gone backwards. Compare the current content to what was in the monthly journal back in the 80s and 90s, when I actually read the thing from cover to cover. It now has nothing to do with accounting. It's all leadership (whateve...
