Merry Christmas to Peter Wilson. When it was suggested that Peter Wilson should be independent of the old board so that we can have a fresh start Peter responded with "That's your issue". Summary of the meeting here: viewtopic.php?f=23&t=594

Re: My letter to the Board re Malley termination

We should also copy all of our letters and emails to AFR, ASIC and Nick Xenophon so that they know that the voice of discontent is getting louder.

Re: 28 June 17 Money Mgnt - ASIC Medcraft has no regrets on CPA Advice

https://www.ifa.com.au/news/18051-cpa-advice-arm-fuels-liability-concerns The government’s Professional Standards Council is worried about a lapse in liability coverage for CPA members and their clients relating to conflicts in its advice business. CPA Australia has confirmed that its application to...

Board's decision to sack and pay Alex ultra vires?

If Tim Youngberry's appointment under the "emergency" provision to make up the Board numbers is not valid in the first place, then the Board's decision to sack and pay Alex is ultra vires. Can we get a court injunction against the Board from exercising any more outrageous decisions pending the deter...

Got a reply from Terrance. Looks like the Councils are on the same page and are trying to do something collectively.

We all need to send our letters to the respective councils and contribute to the fighting fund.

Re: CPA Announcement tomorrow 16/06/17

Given that Jim and Tim are from ACT, nothing will change.

And given that there is no quorum for the Board, can Jim bring on Tim to fill the numbers?

Alex should be taking leave of absence whilst this "independent review" is in progress.

What a whitewash!

Perhaps he is also bullying the Board members into submission!

Can we put an injunction order over a possible golden handshake to pay Alex?

No payout, if any, pending an independent review and to hold Alex to account.

Re: AFR article - CPA Australia's Alex Malley: the world's most ambitious accountant

Great article! Thanks "CPA's combined surpluses of $58.5 million over the previous eight years." CPA does not have any long-term plans for the accumulation of this obscene surplus, all at the expense of our high membership fees. I would like to see a cap in membership fee increases over the next few...

Re: AFR Article 12/06/2017 - CPA Australia's Alex Malley offered 60 Minutes Neil Armstrong interview

Let's stop these wastages and self-promotion once and for all! We are paying a very high membership fee for nothing. We are not cash-cows for Alex. I am sure our fees will increase come December. Let's put a cap on any fee increase until we sort out this mess and give back to members what they deser...

"HR team and also guide the organisation's new culture" Totally agree that CPA needs to have a new culture, not the current culture of arrogance and complacency. CPA exist to serve members and my personal experience have shown that some staff has lost this; I guess primarily due to the bad apples at...

Re: 5 June 2017 Crikey A brief history of the unraveling Alex Malley CPA fiasco

I am sure we have friends in Macquarie University who can tell us the true story!

With such character running CPA, I wouldn't be surprised of what has become of CPA now.

No elections for Alex as CEO? If this is true, then we have reasons to get this rectified.

Re: Board of Directors Applications Open

Having some experience here, directors have perks and status that they want to protect at all cost. This means that they will group together and fight it out. What's more, they all run on the same ticket and it would be hard to break ranks. It is not hard to be a director and it all take numbers. Th...

$7 Million Surplus, Annual Membership Fee Increases, No Add Benefits to Members

Every year, CPA makes millions of dollars of surpluses to build up its war chest. There are NO clear plans (long-term and short-term) as to the intent of this war chest. To fund this war chest, members like us have to pay an ever increasing membership fees. Our Asian counterparts are 'forced' to pay...
