Merry Christmas to Peter Wilson. When it was suggested that Peter Wilson should be independent of the old board so that we can have a fresh start Peter responded with "That's your issue". Summary of the meeting here: viewtopic.php?f=23&t=594

Re: AFR 7 Aug 2017 - Inside story of Alex Malley's final days at CPA Australia

I think we should all acknowledge the good work that Brett Stevenson has done. His courage and efforts have brought the CPA Board and its executive to its knees, thus clearing the path for the organization to claw back from the mess Malley/Graeme et al created. Sure there is some work to be done - a...

Re: AFR 1 August 2017 - The naked CEO Alex Malley is now invisible

Intheblack (I refuse to write it in childish all-caps) is a bad magazine. I get tired of all the 'WE ARE SO GOOD' articles. It's all rubbish. Almost nothing in the magazine is directly related to working CPA professionals. As I said elsewhere, I am still subscribed to communications from the Institu...

Re: Brett's 'Weekly' Update 18th July 2017

Ken, in defence of Brett - he's not 'frothing at the mouth'. IDK essentially criticizes Brett's work with a generic plain vanilla textbook argument: "I can't help but think this campaign would have been much more successful if more clearly thought out and planned with a documented and defined missio...

Re: Competitor accounting bodies target CPA members

I am a CPA and also used to be a member of IPA. I can state that IPA treats its members with much respect, and that the information they send to their members is actually relevant to the profession, instead of all this 'Oh We're So Good We're The Business Leadahs' nonsense that increasingly comes my...

Online voting - great idea. I am also a member of CPA Canada and online votes are the norm there - works well.

I doubt if we would be looking at that $4.9 million smirk photo today if CPAA would have introduced online voting years ago.

Re: CPA Australia breaks silence on leadership saga

It seems like the remaining directors are circling the wagons and that they support Allex Malley. What a disappointment. I am a Canadian CPA, and was proud to complete the Australian CPA program. I learned a lot. I am now embarrassed to be associated with CPA Australia. That is what it has come down...

Re: What will happen to us if CPA implodes?

I have read some derogatory remarks about IPA and do not think that is warranted. I am a CPA and used to be an IPA member. I still receive IPA e-zines and they actually send their current (and past) members information that is relevant to the accounting profession. Much unlike the nonsense CPA sends...
