Merry Christmas to Peter Wilson. When it was suggested that Peter Wilson should be independent of the old board so that we can have a fresh start Peter responded with "That's your issue". Summary of the meeting here: viewtopic.php?f=23&t=594

Re: CPA Board Update 9th Feb 2018 Consultation Forums

Just tell us how much the Independent Review cost, and international travel. Actually I reckon they could possibly work from the major expense categories in the Trial Balance and run with them rather than I'm sure their normal approach of trying to figure out how to group them together into almost ...

Gonna frame mine. I have two spare frames with CPA and FCPA toilet paper in them currently; something about “Integrity” written on them but I am not sure what that means anymore.

Re: Promoting Alex Malley, instead of CPA as an organisation

Firstly thank you Brett for speaking up and saying what we all have been thinking for a very long time. I too was at HQ about a month ago and was told that CPA had taken over the lease of the Coffee shop located in the foyer at Freshwater Place. Apparently staff get a 20% discount?? A competition w...

Is this because they could see grounds for legal action related to directors duties?
Absolutely.

Talk about self-interest.

Re: Suggestion: amend the constitution to restore ability for any 100 voting members to initiate a member meeting

Hi all I've had discussions with a few members who have suggested the number be changed from 100 members to 200 members to call a Member meeting - this would put us in line with both CAANZ and IPA who both allow a member meeting to be called at any time upon the request of 200 members. I'm drafting...

Re: 12th Feb 2018. The rort continues. Joe Aston column today

The other thing that annoys me is the continued lack of transparency and perhaps deliberate obfuscation , this time around directors duties. Okay, so they spoke to lawyers and were told no grounds for legal action. Fine. On what topics? We don’t know. But it’s easy to engineer an easy life as a new...

Re: Suggestion: Objects

I don't think that CPAA should taking a political position on any of this. E.g. There will be CPAs for negative gearing and against it. It's not CPAA's role to be pushing a political agenda. Incorrectly claiming that the majority of CPAs support a position when they cannot even get more than about ...

yes clearly the sender of the email was supportive of me. Sorry, Geoff; I misunderstood. I thought you'd initially suggested that you got a threatening email from a rogue CPA staff member. No doubt this staff member got "moved along" and is no longer with CPAA. every accountant I speak to is either...

Well, this is just more of the same... (of what we had from the old board and Alex Malley) Also, it's not a good look when you can't take a meeting without having your lawyer present. I think it's fair to say that there has been no improvement in transparency -- nor integrity -- at CPA Australia.

Unfortunately as a lone voice, it is easily ignored, avoided or presented as unrepresentative of the majority.
Even when the voices are in the thousands, it's brushed off as "rebels" and "destabilizers" etc.
