Merry Christmas to Peter Wilson. When it was suggested that Peter Wilson should be independent of the old board so that we can have a fresh start Peter responded with "That's your issue". Summary of the meeting here: viewtopic.php?f=23&t=594

Re: Four Special Resolutions to review and sign for AGM

Have you actually read what the resolution says? It is minimum of three and max of six for each board position. You are just muddying the waters with misrepresentation. Hopefully others can read and see what is on offer a little more clearly. Of course the Board need to have some voice on the Nomina...

Re: Four Special Resolutions to review and sign for AGM

Each to their own, but nakedadmin I would think you are doing your level best to stuff up any positive change for an alternative to what is offered. Not sure what your agenda is but if you keep pushing the only acceptable solution is to have completely open nominations with no sorting of candidates ...

Re: Greater Transparency on International Travel at CPA

I may have misunderstood your comments allaeingeye regarding not having a forensic audit at cpa because of risk of further damage. I have just reread your comment and still am not sure what you are saying but if You think a forensic audit should occur then my apologies to you. I’ll leave my post up ...

Re: Greater Transparency on International Travel at CPA

I guess allseeingeye we just see things differently. You seem content to let possibly wrong behaviour regarding third party contracts, travel and whatever else a good forensic audit would uncover at CPA Australia, just be ignored because it would do more damage to CPA Australia. Crikey, now that's a...

Re: Four Special Resolutions to review and sign for AGM

I think nakedadmin you might be confused about what direct voting is. I cannot fathom your comments beyond that. Members vote for the nominees (max 6 min 3 for each position) on a ballot paper. What are you talking about? I don't think I can spell it out much clearer than that. If you can't see the ...

Re: Four Special Resolutions to review and sign for AGM

Our control is that we vote for the nominees shortlist and select the ones to the Board. There needs to be some way to reduce the nominations for directors to a manageable size for members to vote. Currently and certainly under the model proposed by the board that is done by another select group (ap...

Re: Four Special Resolutions to review and sign for AGM

No big drama Magnet. Once we get the 100 signatures and lodge them the real work will be to get the divisional councillors on board. They might be able to make the difference especially on the direct election model. If the DC's get engaged and active on this I think we shall really give it a good sh...

Four Special Resolutions to review and sign for AGM

Hi Members (and interested others), An anniversary email. It is a year to the day when I sent out my first group email regarding CPA Australia, and a lot has been achieved since then. This one will be very brief. Special Resolutions I have already sent out Special Resolutions on 1. Directors Fees an...

Re: CPA Board Update 9th Feb 2018 Consultation Forums

I hear what you are saying JWheldon but surely the preparation of the annual accounts cannot be seen as wagging the tail of the organisation. We all appreciate its a job, but really with all the very well paid staff they have lets not be too quick to dismiss their delays. My advice (for what it's wo...

Re: Greater Transparency on International Travel at CPA

I think you are being a bit harsh allseeingeye. All the information we have is very limited and it was a pretty fair conclusion to draw. Remember Jillian said nothing about this when it was first disclosed and even above in her first post she did not say it was an upgraded seat but rather an upgrade...

CPA Board Update 9th Feb 2018 Consultation Forums

Hi all, I have promised to place up on the website the Board Notice to members on 9th February, which I have below. I encourage you to refer to the actual email as it has the links to the various other documents referred to in the memo. Also take note of the Consultation Forms with members in March ...

Re: Promoting Alex Malley, instead of CPA as an organisation

Ah certified sane why have we become such Doubting Thomas's of CPA Head Office eh? I think the IRP's unwillingness to even recommend a forensic audit to 'clear the air' and the seeming hesitance of the new board to do the same just leaves us with this sort of legitimate question and query raising it...

Re: Special Resolutions for AGM plus governance concern

Yep Magnet, I sent it out to the mailing list I have. I presume The Spillers will be sending to their mailing list. Good on you for contacting your Victorian Divisional Council re the email and the governance model. I have just sent it in to CPA per their recent Notice to Members, and also to the NS...

Special Resolutions for AGM plus governance concern

Hi members, (I have also posted this on my blog if that is easier for you to read www.excellere.com.au) In the following email are four special resolutions for your consideration and action. Two Special Resolutions for the AGM for you to consider and sign and return if you agree. On Directors Fees O...

Re: Promoting Alex Malley, instead of CPA as an organisation

A well known journalist asked me in a rhetorical way in March 2017 is there any sort of expenditure that is not appropriate or justifiable for the CPA leadership? Well, I think we now all know the answer to that one. A coffee shop, sponsoring the CEO's favourite footy team in Sydney, the immediate p...

Considerations re the new board/IRP recommendations

Hi all, if you are pushed for time below is an outline plus a couple of attachments with the visual guide pretty important I reckon. I didn’t have the million dollars the Independent Review Panel had nor the financial and staffing clout of CPA, nor paid time so you will have to cut me a bit of slack...

I completely agree allseeingeye and Steve Hamilton.
It’s such s pity we lost good members like you both.
Am just drafting an alternative governance model to share around but would appreciate both of your feedback as you have been such stalwart members to expose all this.

12th Feb 2018. The rort continues. Joe Aston column today

I hardly need to add commentary to Joe Astons article in todays AFR on the continuing saga at CPA. When will this charade ever end? Somehow whenever people get into leadership positions at CPA Australia they seem to remove from their vocabulary all those words like common sense, and the reasonable p...

Actually when you think about it you could almost send them a whole booklet of words for them to learn starting with integrity, full, disclosure, transparency, openness. I think they still strug...

Re: Brief Update from Brett 6th Feb 2018

All the past Presidents since 2007 have been made life members, apart from Tyrone Carlin who resigned suddenly last year in the interests of rejuvenation!!! Such selfless service eh? I think the best we can do is at least have them pay an annual membership fee as do we all. Isn’t it amazing that the...
