Merry Christmas to Peter Wilson. When it was suggested that Peter Wilson should be independent of the old board so that we can have a fresh start Peter responded with "That's your issue". Summary of the meeting here: viewtopic.php?f=23&t=594

Re: Interim Report and Posting Guide

From a cursory glance at the executive summary of this report, it appears that the panel has missed the point of member's anger. In particular, the response on CPA's governance is poor. There is no hardhitting recommendation calling for an overhaul of governance, rather a 'soft touch' approach. A ha...

Independent Review Update

Finally, some kind of development! Interesting that Angus has opted to resign from the review, yet CPA did not cite this being an perception issue. https://www.cpaaustralia.com.au/media/media-releases/3-july-2017?utm_source=exacttarget&utm_medium=email&utm_term=All%20Subscribers&utm_content=https%3a...

The amount of money is just staggering. I can compare that to ASX50 companies, managing far more risk, being paid less than these leeches. This is just jaw dropping.

Re: Directors - Resigned and still standing - Australian Institute of Company Directors

The CPA Australia financial accounts reinforce how the corporate world has worked to provided summary reports almost to a point that it just says Total Revenue Less Total Expenses equals a result. It appears to try and hide the real situation in a cloak and dagger situation. Maybe its all "FAKENEWS...

One of the biggest roadblocks is out of the way. Time to dive under the surface and find out what else he was hiding.

Great work from the rebels on this big step forward. The payout is outrageous though!

One step forward! An expensive step, but an important one. CPA has finally succumb to member pressure.

Now on to renewing the board and changing the constitution!

Guys, Let's not get ahead of ourselves here. I understand and empathise with your frustrations, but have a look at this article from the Good Governance Institute: www.governanceinstitute.com.au%2Fmedia%2F706847%2Fggg_dealing-with-requests-access-share-register.pdf It specifically says that email a...

Re: Unintended consequences of media coverage

Well said Brett. I am just wary - the reporting for a while seemed to be attacking the brand itself. All the recent coverage though has been very clearly about the individuals causinging the problem though and what people are trying to do to fix it. I think you are right about Joe Astons "cheeky ir...

I have asked the chief executive to join me to make significant announcements on Friday. Further deta...

We should all be very worried because the same article says the Board's meeting has been called forward to tomorrow (Tues 13 June) to discuss these matters. Re: Fortnight that was 8th June 2017. Where to start?

If this happens, it won't just affect members in practice and public liability insurance. Wouldn't it also affect all members with the CPA designation if their governing organisation is no longer valid and recognised? Can the board be held responsible and personally liable, for the losses incurred ...

Re: Fortnight that was 8th June 2017. Where to start?

That s202B has triggered the resignation of 3 Directors. It's an insane unexpected outcome. But on the day of the board response Tyrone quits and then about 8 days later 2 more quit. And they still have not complied with it. All they have to do is put the numbers on a bit of paper and email it out....

CPA has known this for 18 months, and has done nothing about it? Instead pouring more of member's money into the subsidiary to pay themselves? How is this not a high area of concern for ASIC? This is a quasi-regulatory body that is pissing money away, and is now directly threatening member's livelih...

Re: AFR 6th June 2017 ASIC Examines CPA Accounts

This is amazing work, and I do hope that ASIC pick both CPA and Deloitte up for the garbage they have published. This appears to be reasonably clear cut for ASIC - tick off CPA's disclosures and Deloitte's audit against the Corps Act, AASB standards, and CPA's constitution. It should be no surprise ...
