Merry Christmas to Peter Wilson. When it was suggested that Peter Wilson should be independent of the old board so that we can have a fresh start Peter responded with "That's your issue". Summary of the meeting here: viewtopic.php?f=23&t=594

We informed you in writing the day before you posted the above comments that we would review your materials as soon as possib...

First resolution for your signature: Amend constitution to allow 200 members to call a Member meeting

Greetings all Here is the resolution I am proposing be put on the agenda at the 2018 AGM on 22nd May: That the members of CPA Australia Ltd vote to amend the company constitution as follows: Article 21. Calling meetings of Members (a) The Company may by resolution of the Board call a meeting of Memb...

Re: Suggestion: amend the constitution to restore ability for any 100 voting members to initiate a member meeting

Hi all I've had discussions with a few members who have suggested the number be changed from 100 members to 200 members to call a Member meeting - this would put us in line with both CAANZ and IPA who both allow a member meeting to be called at any time upon the request of 200 members. I'm drafting ...

Re: Suggesion: amend the constitution to restore ability for any 100 voting members to initiate a member meeting

Jen, any idea when the "member engagement roadshow presentation" will be ready? Peter Wilson mentioned it would be ready "early in the new year", but as yet I've seen nothing. https://www.cpaaustralia.com.au/media/media-releases/video-messages/15-december-2017 I've heard second week of March for ro...

Suggestion: amend the constitution to restore ability for any 100 voting members to initiate a member meeting

Greetings all. As you may be aware, the Divisional Councils have called for suggestions on constitutional changes to be developed into resolutions to put to the member vote at the 2018 AGM on 22nd May. I have sent the following suggestion to our NSW Divisional President, and also to the CPA General ...

Re: Out with Malley in with Malley 2.0?

CertifiedSane when we met with Wilson et al they committed to including s202B disclosure in 2017 annual report. Of course it will include a mix of the old board and new board and key exec positions.

Re: Out with Malley in with Malley 2.0?

DisaffectedHRFellow I definitely recommend that you make a s202B disclosure request. This was, in my opinion, the turning point for CPA's members. Until Brett made this request, we kept getting the "nothing to see here" response from Board and leadership. Turns out there was a fair bit to see... I w...

Re: Failure of the IRP Final Report - No accountability or responsibility

I agree with The Cranky CPA and theallseeingeye - accountability will only come from members holding the past and present leadership to account. I've renewed for a further 12 months - and am also now a member of CAANZ - and will see what unfolds in 2018 as to future plans. I encourage other members ...

I would rather judge the actions I see then continue to look for reasons to distrust the process – if I judge the actions to have failed or not be in the best interest of members then I will continue to say so.

Re: 15th Dec 2017 The Saga/Nightmare Continues at CPA Australia

I understand that AHRI employs a staff of only 30; at this scale would you not expect the chairman and directors to be closely involved in decision making and board initiatives like alliance agreements? In that case would it not be likely that the board of directors knew the key executive at CPA Aus...

Re: Methinks we lost the war

I don't think its being negative to ask a lot of questions. What is negative is when we ask, but never get answers. I have asked before, and yet to have a response, on what the IRP is actually costing members. What is the budget? For a bunch of finance people, we're kept completely in the dark on th...
