Merry Christmas to Peter Wilson. When it was suggested that Peter Wilson should be independent of the old board so that we can have a fresh start Peter responded with "That's your issue". Summary of the meeting here: viewtopic.php?f=23&t=594

"Mr Wilson said, in addition to his CPA role, he would continue as chairman of the Australian Human Resources Institute and as a non-executive director of the Victoria Teachers Mutual Bank and Vision Super. "[In] the last 18 months, in particular, I've been looking for a role, it could take up abou...

Fantastic work Brett. A record breaking 8th wicket stand.

Re: Brett's Response to IRPanel Preliminary Report

I think you can just stop paying the annual membership for a few years and re-join later (looks like the fine is about 2 years fees). The new directors should be asking themselves why members would want to keep tipping in their membership fees.

"CPA Australia currently does not have a charter that explicitly governs the standard of behavior of members when dealing with staff and members." With regard to PDL academy there was this article, if anyone missed it, which seemed to cast a shadow over the operation. Who really knows what went on in the backroom of this Board and Executive?

Re: Messages of support and positive feedback

To Brett and the team at the AFR who have reported relentlessly on this topic a big thank you. +1 The CEO and his long term Board associates will not leave voluntarily as their interests don't align with the members (esp. the 2 directors still clinging to their Board positions after 11 years). CPAA...

Re: Next Steps

CEO has nothing to lose, just needs to convince the Board to keep endorsing him, after all the Board carry the weight of the obligations here. Maybe circulation of a draft agenda for an EGM could start the process of recruiting the 5000 members to - 1) dissolve the board 2) appoint interim Board wit...

I saw this just now http://www.businessinsider.com/signs-you-are-working-with-a-psychopath-2017-6/?r=AU&IR=T I don't know how it would apply in this debacle, but it's an interesting read anyway. Hope the staff at CPA Australia are all OK. Seeing those new positions being advertised is slightly conce...

Re: AFR Richard Alston quits CPA Australia board over governance

If the most legally savvy of the directors have quit (and put a stake in the ground by announcing the reason publicly), then the rest must be checking their Directors insurance policy by now. It should bring focus to their obligations to "act in the members interest". I don't think the law will rega...

The CPAA exec are making it clear. The CEO's marketing strategy is at the behest of others (the Board?). Exec pay was directed by the Board. Member communications on the subject are from "the Board" or at the behest of "the Board". Hopefully some of the directors are going to make a stand for their ...
