Merry Christmas to Peter Wilson. When it was suggested that Peter Wilson should be independent of the old board so that we can have a fresh start Peter responded with "That's your issue". Summary of the meeting here: viewtopic.php?f=23&t=594

Next Steps

It would appear that there is strong momentum for change but that the Directors and Executive are holding on like barnacles on a barge. With media on our side the opportunity for change is strong but it will take some hard work. I'd be interested in the next steps? Personally I would support an EGM ...

Re: CPA Response

Of all the information released today, I am probably least concerned about Alex Malley's remuneration. Yes its a huge number but probably in the ballpark market rate for the CEO role of such a public facing organisation. Of course there's the intangible benefit he receives from using members funds ...

Re: Article 45 of the Constitution

As far as I am concerned article 45 covers the Group. No spin or weasel words can deny that fact. There is no grey - there is just the plain, bare faced facts and they have sought to enrich themselves at the expense of the members. How many of us assume additional responsibility without any compensat...

Re: Rattled Alex on ABC the Business

As funny as that is don't actually send/have sent anything in the mail. Apparently he has received weird stuff in the mail. May be just email the pic. Seems to obviously upset him a bit that he cannot personally target each one of us. What do they need our names for? He's got 100 names on the 202B ...

Re: Rattled Alex on ABC the Business

The dissidents are "a handful of members" LOL. Yeah if Alex really thinks he has overwhelming support that give us the email addresses. Member satisfaction is 6.0 out of 10 Alex (by your own biased numbers). Alex lives in a parallel universe - seriously, his interview last night was the ramblings o...

Its really disappointing that someone would target Malleys home and kids for whatever reason.
Mr Malley has a reputation for being loose with the truth - I will await the outcome of any police investigation before believing a word this man says.

Hi Chris, A comparison that is more relevant is Barry Melancon at AICPA who earns AU$2.5m https://www.ceoupdate.com/articles/compensation/inside-compensation-ceo-salaries-large-associations-2016-top-paid Good grief - do not use USA executive salaries as examples of fair pay in Australia. Re: CPA Response

4. "Since 2009, the number of people choosing to join CPA Australia has been close to 50 per cent higher than the number joining in the previous eight years." Again, this really hides the real performance. A proper measure would be the % growth three years preceding 2009 as the benchmark and the ye...

I stand to be corrected but to call a meeting of members you need 5% of members to call it (s249D). The 100 member rule was abolished 2 years ago.

Or if just one director would step up they can call one (s249C).
My understanding is the same MarkG

Surely now, if we requisitioned an EGM with a few well worded resolutions could fix up this mess once and for all?
The remuneration is scandalous but the governance is just as outrageous.

Agree 100% with JJF, we need to call an EGM to clear up this mess!!!!!!

Did CPAA manage win their costs back, or was it another possible waste of our membership $$? Accordingly, the rel...
