Guess what was posted on the CPA site on a Friday.... 20 Dec no less.... makes me think of the political announcement cycle where things are released late on a Friday to say that the announcement was made. But like the political announcement cycle, the timing of the announcement is timed so that it drops unnoticed.
Notice of change of Auditor
The Board of CPA Australia Ltd (CPA Australia) wishes to announce that the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) has consented to the resignation of CPA Australia’s auditors, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, effective from the date of this notice.
In accordance with ASIC Regulatory Guide 26, paragraphs RG 26.59-RG26.61, CPA Australia provides the following information:
The outgoing auditor is:
Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, Level 4,550 Bourke Street, Melbourne VIC 3000
The incoming auditor is:
KPMG Australia, Tower Two, Collins Square, 727 Collins Street, Docklands VIC 3008
The reason for the change is that following a competitive selection process, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu resigned as CPA Australia’s auditor and will be replaced by KPMG, following approval by ASIC, effective from the date of this notice.[/size]
