Merry Christmas to Peter Wilson. When it was suggested that Peter Wilson should be independent of the old board so that we can have a fresh start Peter responded with "That's your issue". Summary of the meeting here: viewtopic.php?f=23&t=594

New CEO + Awty leaves 23/3

Post by deaneus » Fri Mar 23, 2018 3:25 pm

Your new Board is very pleased to announce Andrew Hunter has been appointed as CPA Australia’s new Chief Executive Officer and will take up the role on 3 April 2018.

Who?
Andrew’s annual base remuneration will be $650,000 with an at risk incentive component of one third of his base remuneration and his contract includes a mutual notice period of 6 months.

Still twice as much as it needs to be
Andrew has previously completed the Ethics and Governance model of the CPA Program and he intends to complete the program in 2019.
There's so many things funny about this statement.
Today we are also announcing that Adam Awty is leaving CPA Australia after 18 years to pursue other career opportunities. Adam has been interim CEO since June 2017. His former Chief Operating Officer Commercial role has been made redundant and he will receive a redundancy payment in accordance with the organisation’s policies of $843,446. His last day will be 2 April.

WELL THANK GOD WE GAVE HIM A REDUNDANCY EQUALLING HIS YEARLY PAY. FOR ....'S SAKE.
Adam took up the interim CEO role during the most tumultuous period in CPA Australia's history and the new Board thanks him for his efforts to keep the organisation moving ahead over this time.

Well, i hope he at least had the decency for a reach-around.
Peter Wilson AM FCPA
You're a disgrace.

18 years with his snout in the trough!!!

Rode the coat tails of Alex Malley all the way to the end.

Good riddance!

They had to get rid of him, as he knew too much. What a waste of a enormous amount of membership funds from CPA Australia. There are still other managers within CPA Australia, that also need to resign or be terminated.

As others have already stated, the 2017 financials will be a huge loss.

So many questions and so many skeletons still be uncovered. Now for all the related entities, which have received consultancy fees from CPA Australia.

So l would guess, that Mark Stretton will be next. He will be removed as the audit partner in charge of the CPA Australia audit.

With all the individuals, who created the problems gone, the new board, can go to the AGM and blame the past administration and keep saying, its time to move forward.

This is exactly what will happen.

Peter Wilson made it very clear at the member forum that cpa will focus on moving forward. They have absolutely no intention of holding the past board and administration accountable.

They do not want to uncover anymore skeletons. They do not want any more bad press. They just want to move forward.

Now he has plenty of time to build this organisation for which he is a director of, Pillars of Strength.

Maybe he can get Alex Malley, Jeff Hughes and maybe Graeme Wade to help build the charity with all their combined skills. Just like, they used their great business skills to help build up a little, unknown, start up called, CPA Australia Advice.

On the other hand, as this charity has such little income, and no financial backing from a larger Not For Profit organisation, it couldn't afford the salary required to obtain the services of Alex Malley, Jeff Hughes or Graeme Wade. They probably wouldn't get out of bed, for less than $10,000 a day. Ha Ha ( Quote from Linda Evangelista "I don't get out of bed for less than $10,000 a day." )

As I have been saying since the Independent Review Interim Report, and Peter Wilson’s “that’s your problem” utterances....this here is the fatal flaw in the ill-conceived, inwardly-looking strategy coming from Southbank.

Why? Every one of last year’s revelations was preceded by obfuscation, denial, “we’ve done what the law requires” type of answers. So they have come at a trickle, if at all (cf. Senate Estimates Committee non-responses! ). Such a lack of transparency suggests there is more that hasn’t leaked out yet. All it takes is one leak....another Joe Aston expose in the Fin...and the new leadership are going to look like idiots. They’ve adopted a strategy of protecting their interests and making their jobs simpler - certainly at the expense of existing members, and potentially at the future expense of getting CPAs reputation out of the hole it is in.

Time will tell.
