EOI - Trust in CPA Australia Case Study

Dear CPA members,

I am currently working on an Australian Research Council funded project with Associate Professor Nicole Gillespie and Professor Matthew Hornsey at the University of Queensland. The project focuses on responses to trust breaches in Australian organizations.
Last year we selected CPA Australia as the ideal case study organization for the project, and have been closely following and documenting the developments in media outlets as well as on cpamembers.org.

We are aware of the case study that Conor Clune and Paul Andon from UNSW have recently posted. Our focus is quite different to their project, and centers on organizational and stakeholder responses to trust breaches. In particular, we are examining how CPA Australia is responding to accusations of untrustworthy conduct, what it is doing in response, and how the scandal and the CPA’s response influences stakeholder trust in CPA over time. To understand this, we are collecting both interviews with CPA stakeholders, as well as documentary material (e.g. communications to members, cpamembers.org’s entries, LinkedIn posts, etc.).

We are looking for members who would be willing to share their perspectives in the form of a 45-60 minute interview. Interviews would focus on understanding members’ perspective on, and reactions to, the events at CPA. Of course we have an idea of the perspectives of many members through reading the entries on cpamembers.org, but we have some specific questions about organisational and stakeholder trust that we would very much like to ask. Attached to this entry is the participant information sheet which has been approved by the Research Ethics Committee at the University of Queensland. This provides assurance as to the confidentiality of the interview and the careful management of the data.

Please feel free to get in touch at m.anesa@business.uq.edu.au if you are interested in participating or need more information.

Many thanks for your consideration.

Mattia

Hi All,
Can I encourage you to participate in this study being done from UQ (Mattia Anesa) and the UNSW one (Conor Clune and Paul Andon).
I reckon any outside perspective on what has happened at CPA would be helpful, and especially from the academic world.
Cheers
Brett
