Merry Christmas to Peter Wilson. When it was suggested that Peter Wilson should be independent of the old board so that we can have a fresh start Peter responded with "That's your issue". Summary of the meeting here: viewtopic.php?f=23&t=594

The Board has to go!!!!!!

Let's look in detail at our directors individually so the term 'the board' does not minimise their individual responsibility for decisions made and oversight in relation to many of these issues.

The Board has to go!!!!!!

Post by Stomper » Sun Jun 25, 2017 12:32 pm

Missing from Friday's announcement was the full resignation of the Board.

How can they seriously remain in their positions after their 16 June 2017 unqualified endorsement of Malley and the strategy.

Matters pertaining to the chief executive

As we have made clear in our annual report, at our AGM and in a range of member communications, CPA Australia is enjoying unprecedented success.

In so many ways this is due to the leadership and vision of our chief executive.

Alex is executing the strategies set and monitored by the Board over his tenure. He is delivering at the highest possible level and he is doing it under considerable duress.

In spite of the last two-plus years of often very personal attacks from the media, Alex has exhibited grace and calm.

Alex has consistently exceeded the expectations of the Board over time and the KPIs the Board has set for him.

For the record, every board member during Alex’s tenure – all 23 of them – has unanimously endorsed his performance over time.

Director COOPER
Director CHAPMAN
Director BIRD
Director CAHILL
Director LOW
Director FOO
Director GREY
Director TREBILCOCK
Director EGAN
Director EBBECK
Director DOWLING
Director CARLIN
Director ALSTON
Director RYAN
Director SPONG
Director DICKSON
Director ONG
Director PETTY
Director DOLIN
Director PORTELLI
Director WADE
Director HOURIGAN
Director LANG
The composition of our Board has come through Representative Councils, which over the period of time of Alex’s tenure has totalled around 75 individual and independently minded members.

It is critical that we continue to run our membership organisation successfully and Alex has full support to continue leading our team.
We are still waiting for an appology and empathy towards the disenfranchised membership that have had to endure the exposure of maladministration.

Friday's announcement gave a little bit missed so much they continue to miss the point that there needs to be fundamental change, starting with the removal of the Board and remaining Executives.

To not even announce the suspension of over the top payments for CPA Advice shows their desire to keep milking the CPA cash cow.

They still haven't provided membership numbers ffs!!!!

We must continue to demand full restitution which includes:

- constitutional change
- new board
- director and remuneration change
- detailed independent investigation
- support of ASIC inquiry
- details of Malley's contract and any other executive termination grenades
- strategic review
- transparent and open reporting
- recovery of mispent/misappropriated funds

We've won round 1 but not the final objective!

Yes stomper..
100% correct . Remaining board and executive must go as well . The have been part of the rotten regime for so long sucking up big $ and no doubt expenses. To endorse Malley and his performance and proclaim what a fabulous position CPA is all down to Malley and his cronies, (and of course themselves ) and then to sack malley the next week .." ... so CPA can move on...." just shows how corruptible these people are. What an incredible backflip. They have no shame.
The Divisional councils need to call for the board and executive to resign.
No payment should be authorised to Mallee ( do you hear that Adam Awty !!??? )
This mess has a long way to go ... and getting rid of mallee is only the start.
It is astounding that the remaining Board and executives think they have any credibility.

No doubt that the Exec must go too, and they can apply their elevated "value" to other pursuits.

I had an interesting conversation last year a "social" with Jeff Hughes, blissfully unaware of his $900K pay and what a "big hitter" must therefore be speaking to.

By coincidence I raised the topic of lack of ethics in Public Life and detected a lack of passion about Transparency there. His view was that citizens should have no right to form new small Political parties beyond the "majors". From his emails published in the press- he's well committed to the "one party state"

New management team and review of managers at CPA in all departments is required.

Don't forget that the management team at CPA Australia are also directors of the oversea branches.

What is going on with the China operation and Vietnam operation which they opened?

Cannot agree with you more JWheldon a full clean up is required and it should come back to new people with a focus on members needs. Not lip service and slogans.

CEO and Executive has stacked the place with "yes sir" people.

When Members ask questions they hide behind "commercial in confidence" , "privacy act" etc.

As one member pointed out if you are a registered tax agent your information is public information.

What disgraceful behaviour since March by the Board, CEO and all executives in trying to keep information away from members.

We still do not know the FCPA/CPA members number and how can this number be confidential?

In this day and age it will take only a few minutes to look it up in the systems. Instead we get stonewalling from the executive.

How is the "best member services organisation in the world" do not know what its full membership number is and has been unable to provide it despite repeated member requests??
