Merry Christmas to Peter Wilson. When it was suggested that Peter Wilson should be independent of the old board so that we can have a fresh start Peter responded with "That's your issue". Summary of the meeting here: viewtopic.php?f=23&t=594
A good summary of where we are up to by Joe Aston of the AFR, linked to from here: viewtopic.php?f=5&p=4137#p4137

Independent Review Panel - Final Report

Post by chuck_meister » Thu Nov 30, 2017 2:40 pm

Well the final report is out. After a quick read through my biggest disappointments remain:

1. No direct election of directors. We now have a new "appointments council". Which is pretty much the same thing minus the boards current ability to stack the council with their own appointees.
2. Alex Malley's $4.9M, unable to be recovered.
3. CPA Advice lives despite the continuing to incur severe losses.
4. No one is held accountable. It's all about doing better in the future. Wade, Petty, Carlin, Malley and co ride into the sunset with their ill gotten gains.

Membership numbers seem to have been reviewed forensically.

Perhaps the easiest lie to prove.

"CPA Australia misunderstood the requirements of a section 202B disclosure"

is surely grounds for a formal complaint about the professional conduct of a CPA....................

How about those assurances like, oh you only get appointed for a third term if you are performing strongly. Wow, that will really stop people who appoint themselves as life members.

Not sure if it's widely known, but I was wondering if and when, and just came across this:
CPA Australia’s Board received the Final Report from the Independent Review Panel on 30 November. The Final Report is extensive and the Board will take some time to consider its findings and recommendations. The Board will provide a detailed response to members on 15 December.

It will be interesting, but likely disappointing, to hear the Board's response to the IRP Report.
