Merry Christmas to Peter Wilson. When it was suggested that Peter Wilson should be independent of the old board so that we can have a fresh start Peter responded with "That's your issue". Summary of the meeting here: viewtopic.php?f=23&t=594

It's a sad day to be a CPA

Post by Nate1 » Wed May 23, 2018 10:12 am

This is my first post in a while

I previously highlighted the growing issue in the recruitment industry against the CPA, and the impact of being a CPA has now had on my career.

I am now officially done! after watching the AGM, was like watching a commercial airliner being hijacked by terrorists - nothing to see here move along...board knows best..

I have one question...how long are they visiting earth?

I have spent 3 years doing a business undergraduate, 3 years doing a masters in finance and another 3 years doing my CPA, after all that dedication my professional corporate career is now tainted by the second-rate CPA.

I am sick of being shown the door and overlooked for a job because I am not a Chartered Accountant, I feel like a am a member of a fraudulent organisation.

my once blossoming career is now dead

WE NEED TO FACE THE FACTS - THE CORPORATE FINANCE INDUSTRY DOES NOT WANT TO HIRE CPA MEMBERS
WE NEED A PLAN, WE NEED ACTION, THE BOARD CONTINUES TO STICK THEIR HEADS IN THE SAND AT OUR EXPENSE

I am now personally committed to starting my own business and waiting for the day I can cancel my CPA membership entirely.

as a new member of only 3 years, i can tell you - ITS OVER PEOPLE

any new member trying to make a career in Sydney is wasting their time, ANY HIGH PROFILE COMPANY, ASX, TOP 500 AUSTRALIAN COMPANY WILL GO OUT OF THEIR WAY TO NOT HIRE US

I would love to see the data on very senior finance roles held by CPA members - either ASX or Australian top 500?

I'm officially done

words cannot describe my personal devastation right now..

Today is the saddest day of my professional career.

It doesn't matter how good I am at my role, I'm a CPA, and I'm embarrassed to say it now.

Hi folks,

I moved to the IPA earlier this year and became an IPA PPC holder.

It's the best thing I have ever done. The support is next level.

I will also be joining the Institute.

This mob just don't get it and never will.

Disgraceful.

From the AFR back in Jun 7 2017
http://www.afr.com/business/accounting/ ... 607-gwmemo

David Murray resigns

His argument was undercut by the decision of former Commonwealth Bank of Australia chief executive David Murray to resign because of the way the body is run.

The inaugural Future Fund chairman and head of the government's financial system inquiry was a Fellow of the CPA, a membership category for accountants with 15 years and more experience.

Resigning after 40 years, Mr Murray said he was surprised not to receive so much as an email or phone call from CPA Australia.

"I was sad to leave after a working lifetime of membership," he said.

and that is what disenfranchised members will do - shameful

I will take the refugee option at CA....the criminals at cpa are insulting our intelligence. I hope all members that objected to the disgraceful behavior of cpa australia leadership all leave...it will then be left with the apathetic and the unemployable riff raff and the accreditation will be exposed for the joke it is
