Merry Christmas to Peter Wilson. When it was suggested that Peter Wilson should be independent of the old board so that we can have a fresh start Peter responded with "That's your issue". Summary of the meeting here: viewtopic.php?f=23&t=594
A good summary of where we are up to by Joe Aston of the AFR, linked to from here: viewtopic.php?f=5&p=4137#p4137

CPA Email 1/5/2017

I can't wait to see Bretts response to this blatant piece of propaganda. I will be responding to member register expressing my concerns about the obvious lies in this document.

I was going to reply to the email address it came from, but that would have been ignored or buried. So instead, I posted this on Facebook:

What is happening to CPA Australia?
I was going to stay silent, but I just received an immensely offensive and potentially defamatory email from the Board of Directors of CPA Australia.
A member is currently trying to get the Board to disclose the amount that CPA is paying executives and Board members. Instead of complying, the Board has sent a potential defamatory email to all CPAs. And when releasing contact details to him, they gave physical addresses but not emails.
Why do you think the "Find a CPA" tool is offline? Surely this tool is important for CPAs getting business. But stopping CPAs communicating with each other seems to be more important to the Board and (naked) CEO.
Why is CPA Australia deleting comments posted by Members on the CPA LinkedIn discussion group?

Here is the offensive email I received:
<here I included the text of the email>

I mean, Bahamas!? What are they trying to imply? Wish we had the money to sue their sorry asses.

I sense there is a desire for greater disclosure. We can commit to considering alternative models for disclosing where it's hosted.

Funny, how they communicated to members via email, yet would not give email addresses to Brett!!

That must be a breach of the Corporations Act!

Funny also that they railed against that request but conveniently didn't mention that the same people were requesting disclosure of the Directors' Fees, also under the Corporations Act.
góðan dag,

Those who can, do. Those who can't teach. Those who get kicked out of teaching, run Accounting Societies, OR... get paid $5m to get kicked out of running Accounting Societies!

If these shenanigans were taking place inside a trade union, it would be front page news.

Well it is kind of similar to a trade union. Except that trade unions are not compulsory and they stick up for members rights rather than discipline members.

I have responded to their email in Group Email 23 - refer to that forum for it.
