Merry Christmas to Peter Wilson. When it was suggested that Peter Wilson should be independent of the old board so that we can have a fresh start Peter responded with "That's your issue". Summary of the meeting here: viewtopic.php?f=23&t=594
A good summary of where we are up to by Joe Aston of the AFR, linked to from here: viewtopic.php?f=5&p=4137#p4137

Tyrone Carlin

AFR published an article yesterday on Tyrone Carlin who would apparently need to work 8 days a week to earn his salary from CPA Australia considering his other commitments.

http://www.afr.com/brand/rear-window/ei ... 409-gvh1wn

Tyrone works full time for Sydney University as the deputy vice-chancellor. But in addition has these roles:
* CPA Australia president with a salary based on working 3.5 days per week.
* Director of CPA Advice
* Director of Teachers Mutual (Tyrone states this is 5.25 hours per month)

Tyrone is restricted by his university role to spending 20% of his time on other things and quotes Tyrone as saying "I can only say that the 2006 document doesn't refer the board's expectation of my role as president," indicating that he does not spend 3.5 days a week in the role of president.

So if he is not spending the time doing this work:
1. Why are we paying for it?
2. Who is doing the work?

Does this guy just turn up sign off on what Alex Malley has already prepared and take the pay check based on 3.5 days a week plus CPA Advice?

Is this how Alex Malley retains effective control on the organisation? How many Directors are just turning up and signing off what Alex already prepared without questioning it in return for the exorbitant salaries?

Just noticed that he is also an external director of the Urologists Society of Australia and New Zealand.
This is the same organisation that Alex was CEO then external director of.

If you type "tyrone carlin eight days a week" into Google you'll be able to get past the paywall from there.

Seems to work with most articles/paywalls.

Told you all I was technologically illiterate with the workings of the interwebs. Just as well I'm retiring in a few years before I'm forced out by the rise of the machines.
