Merry Christmas to Peter Wilson. When it was suggested that Peter Wilson should be independent of the old board so that we can have a fresh start Peter responded with "That's your issue". Summary of the meeting here: viewtopic.php?f=23&t=594
A good summary of where we are up to by Joe Aston of the AFR, linked to from here: viewtopic.php?f=5&p=4137#p4137

As already raised by Brett, it is interesting that Richard Petty is on the board of IFAC.

https://www.ifac.org/about-ifac/structu ... ance/board

Interesting that Richard Petty was nominated by ICAA as board member and Alex Malley was his technical adviser and nominated by CPA.

The appointments are for a three year term and can be reappointed for additional terms.

So did ICAA request that Richard Petty be reappointed as their representative at the end of his term in November 2017 and why would ICAA have Richard Petty reappointed as their representative, when he was always a CPA and not really a member of ICAA?

Richard Petty is on IFAC Planning and Finance Committee. Really????? One would have thought it best for Richard Petty to be removed, and another individual appointed?

Why didn't the current board of CPA Australia, who were appointed in October 2017, seek to appoint someone else, besides Richard Petty to IFAC???

It does look like that IFAC is really controlled by ICAA and doesn't really have a representative from CPA Australia.

On page 91 of 2017 CPA Australia Annual report, CPA Australia contributed $1,345,578 and in 2016 they contributed $1,215,914

So how much money did Richard Petty get paid for this job and isn't this just a poor reflection upon the current board, to enable an individual who was apart of a board, that was shown in the Independent Review to not have acted in the best interest of the members with regards to Alex Malley's contract?

As Brett has already indicated, the new board, has let the old board members continue to reep rewards from the membership, without any consequences.

This just goes to show you, that there is one rule for the board of CPA Australia and then a harsh rule for the general membership.
